The Soyuz MS-27 manned spacecraft has successfully launched, delivering the crew for the 73rd long-term mission to the International Space Station (ISS). This thrilling expedition, set to conclude on December 9, will see the team conducting a staggering 50 scientific experiments in the final frontier.

The launch day was nothing short of spectacular, with live broadcasts attracting approximately 2,500 eager spectators to the Baikonur cosmodrome—an unprecedented turnout! Among them were 27 bright young stars from Tatarstan, including winners of national Olympiads in everything from astronomy to biology, as well as passionate activists from various scientific and creative pursuits.

Pride and joy filled the air, with guests from across the globe!"

Gainutdinov’s visit was particularly special as it coincided with the spaceflight of Tatarstan's renowned astronaut, Sergey Ryzhikov—a friend since 2013. Their camaraderie has been nurtured through regular online communication, and they met face-to-face during special events leading up to this historic launch.

With 41 years of longing fulfilled, Gainutdinov recalled his own days at Baikonur, where he contributed to the construction of the Energia-Buran rocket system. His reflections are steeped in history, recalling the automatic flight of the Buran spacecraft that took place back in 1988—an unsung milestone in Russian space exploration.
