Mechanical Mayhem Strikes BC Ferries
Chaos unfolded as a BC Ferries vessel, the Queen of Coquitlam, broke down en route to the Horseshoe Bay terminal, leaving passengers stranded just outside the dock.
A Delayed Journey Ahead!
BC Ferries confirmed that the vessel is currently immobilized due to a mechanical issue related to pitch control. This unexpected hiccup means the 10:50 AM sailing from Langdale will arrive late.
Passengers Speak Out!
Rohana Rezel, a passenger on the ferry, described the surreal scene. He stated, "We left Langdale on time, but now we can see the terminal and we're just stuck here!" After being immobilized for nearly an hour, other passengers began to feel the strain of the situation.
Frustration Amid Calm Seas
Despite the troublesome situation, Rezel noted that overall, the passengers remained composed. "The weather is fine, but you can tell some kids are getting a bit restless. My six-year-old is holding up, but others are starting to wonder when they’ll be able to head home," he said.
BC Ferries Stays on Top of the Situation
BC Ferries assured passengers that they are actively working to resolve the problem and will keep everyone updated. They are awaiting further information and approval from Transport Canada to resume service.
Stay Tuned for Updates!
With the ferry's future uncertain, all eyes are on BC Ferries for swift action. Will the Queen of Coquitlam drag itself into port, or is this adventure just beginning for the stranded travelers? More updates to follow!
