Warning from Guelph Police: Don't Fall for This Deceptive Scheme!
Residents of Guelph are on high alert as police unveil a cunning scam where con artists, posing as workers from Rogers and Bell, are knocking on doors offering fake services.
Reports are flooding in from concerned citizens who have not only received suspicious phone calls but have also had these impersonators show up at their homes. These deceitful scammers promise enticing discounts or lower rates, luring victims into a web of lies.
"They craft convincing stories to extract sensitive personal information from you, even going so far as to suggest home visits to help with registration for non-existent programs," Guelph Police warn.
Disturbingly, many victims have discovered that soon after these interactions, their account details were mysteriously altered, and their private information compromised.
Police have described one of the suspects as a man in his 30s, sporting brown skin and a slight East-Indian accent. He was last seen taking notes and driving a four-door white sedan.
If you have any information that could aid in the investigation, authorities urge you to come forward. Stay vigilant and don't let these scammers steal your peace of mind!
