Calgary police are urgently appealing to the community for assistance in identifying a suspect linked to a wave of residential burglaries that occurred between February 26 and March 3. Shockingly, investigators estimate that over $2 million worth of valuables have been stolen from homes in upscale neighborhoods such as Aspen Woods, Britannia, Upper Mount Royal, and Crescent Heights.

Authorities report that the burglaries often involved two to four suspects who targeted the second floors of residences, specifically focusing on main bedrooms where they could access high-value items, including jewelry, luxury watches, and designer clothing.

Evidence suggests that the victims and their homes may have been under surveillance prior to these break-ins. Most incidents occurred between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., raising concerns about the safety of families in these neighborhoods during evening hours.

In an effort to crack the case, police have released a photograph of a person of interest, who may have been present in the vicinity of one of the burglaries. He is described as approximately five feet eight inches tall with a medium build, brown hair, and brown eyes.

Acting Inspector Travis Baker of the Calgary Police Service warned residents, “If you see suspicious activity, don’t approach the individuals. Instead, take note of their appearance or vehicle and report it to the police immediately.”

To enhance community safety, police have shared essential crime prevention tips for homeowners: Familiarize yourself with your neighborhood and report any unusual activity to law enforcement, especially if you observe someone seemingly monitoring homes. Pay attention to unfamiliar vehicles in your area, noting details such as the license plate, color, make, model, and any distinguishing features like stickers or damages. Be vigilant about suspicious individuals, taking mental notes on their physical characteristics, clothing, and footwear.

Residents are encouraged to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234 for non-emergency situations and should dial 911 immediately if they are victimized or witness a break-in.
