Originally installed in 1983 at Barefoot Landing, a waterpark in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, the slide was one of the main attractions until the park closed in 2016. Kember acquired the slide after it had been listed for $30,000 in 2020 and negotiated with the previous owners to transport it to his location last August.

However, shipping this behemoth presented significant challenges. Kember had to coordinate with a transportation company experienced in moving such large, unwieldy items. The operation required multiple trailers and careful planning, especially as they traversed the notoriously windy Confederation Bridge to finalize its 260-kilometer journey. Despite treacherous weather conditions, Kember was able to secure the slide without incident, describing the experience as a nail-biter but ultimately rewarding.

Now, as Kember eyes a potential secondary location for the slide in a new waterpark development in Summerside, he acknowledges the complexity of securing approvals from local authorities. He believes that if the community supports his initiative, it could lead to more exciting attractions for residents and tourists alike.

In addition to the massive water slide, Kember has also become known for his quirky inventions. He has crafted a unique Sea-Doo featuring the body of a golf cart, drawing curious looks and inquiries wherever he rides. While he's not seriously aiming to sell this eye-catching creation, the hefty price tag of $100,000 has attracted interest from individuals as far away as New York.
