Surprisingly, these top moments generated an impressive nearly 100 million megabytes of data, underscoring the increasing need for fast and reliable connectivity nationwide.

Unquestionably, music events topped the list of shared moments. Taylor Swift's highly anticipated Eras Tour captured the spotlight, with her six performances in Toronto alone generating a staggering 42TB of data.

To put that into perspective, it’s akin to streaming her entire music catalog over 63,000 times! Following closely was her three-night concert in Vancouver, which saw 32TB of usage.

Adding to the musical excitement was Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh, whose concert in Toronto in July attracted 5.38TB of data usage, landing him in third place. This massive engagement showcases the diverse musical tastes of Canadians and the unifying power of live performances.

The love for sports in Canada was unmistakable, as four unforgettable sports moments made it onto the list.

The 111th Grey Cup held at BC Place topped the sports segment with 3.95TB of data consumption, comparable to streaming the Jonas Brothers’ halftime show nearly 9,000 times!

Baseball enthusiasts contributed to the excitement with the Toronto Blue Jays’ home opener, generating 3.1TB of data.

Meanwhile, hockey fans rallied behind the Edmonton Oilers as they documented the team's thrilling Stanley Cup Finals journey with 3.06TB of data usage.

Rounding out the sports highlights was a nail-biting Game 7 match of the Western Conference Final between Vancouver and Edmonton, which garnered 1.53TB of shared data.

A Celestial Event to Remember

2024 also saw the return of a total solar eclipse, a phenomenon that left Canadians in awe.

Cities along the path of totality experienced significant spikes in data usage, particularly Montreal, which led the way with 3.68TB. Niagara Falls followed with 2.83TB, while Kingston added another 2.32TB.
