Authorities in North Vancouver are urging the public's help in identifying a suspect linked to a disturbing series of groping incidents that have been reported in the area over the last few months. The latest case has prompted police to release compelling cellphone footage captured by a witness during an assault on July 22, which shows a man wearing distinctive orange shoes riding away on a bicycle.

Ongoing Investigations

North Vancouver RCMP have stated that they are diligently investigating these troubling reports. "Our investigators are working around the clock on these cases, meticulously reviewing CCTV footage, canvassing neighborhoods extensively, and following up on every single lead," said Const. Mansoor Sahak in a news release. The RCMP is calling on anyone who might recognize the suspect to come forward, emphasizing the critical role that community assistance can play in securing justice and ensuring public safety.

Cluster of Groping Incidents

This investigation is far from isolated. In recent weeks, the police have sounded the alarm over a cluster of groping incidents, with three reported occurrences in the Lower Lonsdale area between September 9 and September 24. Each incident involved a woman who was assaulted from behind by a suspect riding an E-bike. Surveillance footage shared at the time depicted a similar figure cycling down a residential street.

Escalation of Incidents

Since those initial reports, the situation has escalated, with two additional victims coming forward, including one from the July 22 incident. The most recent assault occurred on November 14, near West Keith Road and Chesterfield Avenue, bringing the total number of reported groping incidents to five. Descriptions from witnesses suggest that the suspect is approximately 6’ tall, has a "brown skin tone," and notably hairy legs.

While investigators have identified commonalities among the five reported incidents, they acknowledge that they cannot definitively conclude that the same individual is behind all of them. The ongoing investigations highlight a pressing public safety concern in the area.
