The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) has announced that the Shenzhou-19 mission crew is set to return to Earth around May 1. As the mission reaches its final days aboard the China Space Station, the team is making incredible strides in space science experiments and technical tests.

Comprising of taikonauts Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze, the crew recently conducted brainwave monitoring experiments that promise to reveal fascinating insights into human cognition and spatial awareness in microgravity. Ground-based researchers will analyze the collected data to explore how gravity influences visual-motor processing and how brainwave music can affect executive functions in space.

Over the past six months, the team has been diligently assessing the space station’s habitability by gathering vital data through questionnaires and video recordings. This information will help researchers pinpoint design flaws and enhance the ergonomics and livability of future spacecraft.

In a crucial step for space medicine, the crew also conducted pharmacokinetic research, laying the groundwork for developing effective medication protocols for astronauts.

On the technology front, the crew is advancing aerospace innovations by executing the assembly and testing of cutting-edge refrigeration technology, aimed at meeting the rigorous demands of future deep-space exploration.

Alongside these groundbreaking experiments, the astronauts completed routine environmental monitoring tasks, including air quality assessments and equipment maintenance. They also underwent thorough medical check-ups involving electrocardiograms and cardiovascular evaluations, crucial for maintaining their health in extended missions.

Looking ahead, China's Tiangong space station is gearing up to host upcoming crews, including Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 missions, along with the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft. The selected taikonauts are already undergoing intensive training to prepare for their roles in these exciting missions.
