Heartfelt Search for Two Missing Women

In a heartfelt effort to locate two missing women from London, Ontario, a dedicated organization has set its sights on the Thames River near Cavendish Park. The group, “Please Bring Me Home” (PBMH), has a proven track record, having assisted in the recovery of 40 missing individuals since its inception in 2018.

Leadership of Nick Oldrieve

Nick Oldrieve, the executive director of PBMH, has journeyed from Owen Sound to spearhead the search for the remains of Kathryn Bordato and Shelley Desrochers. Both women have been missing for years, with Bordato last seen in 2009 and Desrochers in 2016.

Concerns Over Kathryn's Disappearance

Oldrieve stated, “The alleged perpetrator of Kathryn’s disappearance claimed that he dropped her off at this park, which has raised serious concerns about her fate.” He explained, “There’s no evidence of her whereabouts after that point. We suspect that her body was disposed of in this area, likely near the river.”

Volunteers in Action

With a small army of devoted volunteers, PBMH is meticulously combing the river for any signs of remains, personal belongings, or clothing linked to the two women. The group has also put up posters featuring Ronald Kevin Fangrad, the man believed to have connections to both women. Fangrad, who passed away in 2020, was dating Bordato at the time of her disappearance.

London police have revealed that Fangrad had associations with both women, who were known to lead “high-risk lifestyles” in the sex trade. Oldrieve highlighted the troubling connections, emphasizing that Desrochers had last accessed her social networks via Fangrad's computer around the time she went missing. This detail raises questions about whether Fangrad’s involvement was purely coincidental.

Roberta Kilbourne's Dedication

Among the search team is Roberta Kilbourne, a long-time acquaintance of Desrochers. “I’ve known Shelley since she was 12 years old,” Kilbourne shared. “I’m heartbroken seeing her name on that billboard—it motivates me to keep searching. We have to bring them home.”

As the search commenced under the bridge at Wharncliffe Road and Riverside Drive, the team divided into groups to cover more ground along the Thames. They relied on radio communications to maintain contact during their efforts.
