Assistant Fire Chief Derek Masaro provided an update, revealing that the fire ignited in one of the back bedrooms and rapidly spread to the attic space on the affected side of the duplex. Fortunately, firefighting crews managed to contain the blaze to just one side of the structure.

"The other side is going to be a write-off because the roof has partially collapsed," Masaro explained, highlighting the severe damage inflicted on the displaced family’s home. Luckily, the resident on the undamaged side can return after the smoke clears, allowing them to stay temporarily elsewhere.
