DJ Fat Tony's Shocking Attack

DJ Fat Tony, the iconic figure known for electrifying dance floors, has bravely revealed that he was left with “horrific” facial injuries following a shocking attack at a recent live performance. The 57-year-old artist, whose real name is Tony Marnach, took to Instagram this past weekend to share the heart-wrenching details along with distressing photos showcasing his battered face, complete with a black eye and significant swelling.

Details of the Incident

The troubling incident occurred shortly after Fat Tony concluded his set at the Lido Leisure Centre in Margate, with reports indicating that the attack took place around 1am on Saturday, December 14. DJ Fat Tony recounted the alarming experience, stating, “I can’t really go into details, but I was attacked last night at a gig, in the DJ box by another DJ funnily enough. It resulted in me being knocked out and taken to hospital, where I spent the entire night in A&E.”

Cancellation of Upcoming Gigs

Sadly, due to the brutal assault, Marnach announced the cancellation of his anticipated gig at No90 in Hackney Wick, London, explaining, “I’ve been advised to stay home and recover.” Expressing his feelings, he said, “I’m absolutely gutted. I can’t believe this happened. It is heartbreaking that some individuals choose violence, especially when our work stems from a place of love.”

Investigation by Kent Police

The Kent Police are currently investigating the incident, having confirmed that no arrests have been made thus far. A spokesperson stated, “Kent Police is investigating the report of an assault at the Lido Leisure Centre. It is alleged a man in his 50s, working as a DJ, was assaulted by another man between 1:15am and 1:37am.”

Support from Fans and Community

In a follow-up update shared on December 15, DJ Fat Tony expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received during this challenging time. Despite being in “a lot of pain,” he reassured fans that he’s being cared for by his partner, Stavros Agapiou. Promising to reschedule the Hackney show for January, he urged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the police with any information.
