Scarborough Man in Hot Water with the Law
A 30-year-old man from Scarborough, Jeremiah Rasheed Pooran, is currently a wanted fugitive, facing serious accusations that could land him behind bars. Police in Niagara are on the lookout for Pooran, who allegedly made chilling death threats and harassed a woman he knew between March and April of this year.
Multiple Charges and Previous Offenses
An arrest warrant has been issued, with Pooran charged not only with uttering death threats and criminal harassment but also for violating probation and release conditions. This isn't Pooran's first run-in with the law; he’s also linked to a separate investigation by the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) specific to similar offenses dating back to 2024.
The Hunt is On: Where Could He Be?
According to authorities, Pooran's current whereabouts remain a mystery. "Detectives believe he is actively evading arrest and is believed to be hiding out in the Greater Toronto Area," police stated in a recent press release.
A Call to Action for the Public
Police are urging anyone who spots Pooran to avoid confrontation and instead, contact local authorities immediately. Interestingly, he is concurrently wanted by three other police services across the province, making him one of the top targets for law enforcement.
Ongoing Investigation - Can You Help?
The investigation is still very much in play, and law enforcement is keen to gather any and all information that could lead to Pooran's capture. If you have any leads, contact the NRPS at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009285, or you can reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
