In a reassuring update, Cambridge Memorial Hospital has officially declared the gastroenteritis outbreak on its B2 Inpatient Medicine Unit at an end as of April 18. This marks a significant turn after the outbreak began on April 8, sparking a swift and decisive response.

The hospital, in collaboration with Waterloo Public Health, implemented rigorous cleaning protocols and visitor restrictions to curtail the virus's spread. A total of 18 cases of healthcare-associated infections were reported, affecting both patients and staff.
