Curious about what an entire match of Bungie’s newly unveiled extraction shooter, Marathon, looks like? Well, we’ve got you covered! We teamed up with renowned Destiny YouTuber Skarrow9 to deliver an unfiltered gameplay experience straight from the trenches, and you can catch it all in the video above!

It's been a whirlwind two weeks since Bungie officially reintroduced Marathon to the gaming world on April 12. While early previews have been predominantly positive, players remain cautious about the game’s potential success against fierce competition in the shooter market.

A prevailing concern for many fans is the fear that the gameplay may be too fast-paced and overwhelming for casual players. Thankfully, while Marathon does deliver intense, heart-pounding action, it also features ample moments for players to regain their composure away from the fray.

Unfortunately, the revealing videos focused heavily on high-stress player-versus-player combat due to time constraints and Bungie’s emphasis on flashy trailers, leaving some viewers unclear about the game’s broader dynamics.

To clarify Marathon’s gameplay identity, we decided to share real footage from my playtime at Bungie’s recent preview event. We handed over the reins to Skarrow9, who has been immersed in the world of Marathon, even participating in playtests and unraveling intricate puzzles related to the game.

Our goal was to showcase a full match—warts and all—without any cuts (though we did trim out about three minutes of looting due to length restrictions). From the moment you drop into the battleground to the ultimate extraction, this is Marathon raw and real!

The gameplay video comes enhanced with commentary from both Skarrow and myself, providing deeper insights into our strategies and observations throughout the match. Viewers will witness everything—a mix of looting, battling PvE foes, and engaging rival squads!

For those eager to jump in, the first alpha testing phase of Marathon kicks off this Wednesday for a limited number of North American players. But not to worry—Bungie promises that a wider audience will soon get their chance to try out the game before the anticipated release on September 23.

Stay tuned for more updates, and don't forget to check out our exclusive gameplay video to see what the buzz is all about!
