The 74-year-old former host of “The Tonight Show” suffered considerable bruising on the left side of his face during the mishap, requiring medical attention.

Leno, sporting a patch over his swollen left eye, recounted the frightening fall to reporters ahead of his performance in Beverly Hills on Monday night. The accident occurred while he was staying at a Hampton Inn approximately 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh. "I thought, 'The hill doesn’t look that steep – about 60, 70 feet. Let me see if I can get down there…'" Leno described the moment humorously, adding that as he tumbled he exclaimed, "boom, boom, boom," colliding with several rocks along the way.

Despite the serious injuries, including a broken wrist and a lost fingernail, Leno’s indomitable spirit shone through as he went on to perform just three hours later. He received medical treatment only after returning home to Los Angeles. “It isn’t a big deal, it’s alright,” he reassured fans, showcasing his characteristic resilience.
