In an inspiring initiative, ninth graders from Lake Country's George Elliot Secondary School are rallying the community to step out and make a difference this Earth Day!
The Climate Action Ripple Effect (CARE) Program
Thanks to the newly launched Climate Action Ripple Effect (CARE) program in School District 23, over 50 enthusiastic students are collaborating to host a meaningful Earth Day event.
Art and Nature Collide
Local artist Margaret Kyle has teamed up with the students to create captivating art installations that will adorn the walking path behind the high school. In addition, senior biologist Kyle Hawkes from Eco-Scape Environmental Consulting has provided hands-on support, helping students clean up the path, eradicate invasive species, and plant vibrant flowers.
A Witness to Passion and Purpose
"I’ve witnessed the unique interests and strengths of each student shine throughout this project, especially since their efforts align with their personal values and passions," said teacher Josee Arcand. "CARE has been an extraordinary experience for everyone involved!"
