Massive Drug Bust in Montreal

In an astonishing operation, border agents in Montreal have intercepted a staggering 11 million amphetamine tablets concealed within a shipping container from China. This major seizure, described as one of the largest in recent history, took place on August 29 at the Montreal Marine and Rail Services located on Tellier Street in the city’s Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) reported that a precise search uncovered 11,199,432 tablets cleverly hidden within 744 PVC panels. This significant operation has exposed a shipment valued at nearly $56 million, although experts suggest that on the black market, these drugs could be worth significantly more, potentially tripling the initial estimate.

The discovery was made possible through advanced detection tools, which indicated an anomaly within the container. Following this, border agents conducted an extensive search that ultimately revealed the extensive haul of illicit drugs.

The tablets have now been transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for destruction, ensuring that they will not reach the streets of Canadian communities.
