The much-anticipated mobile primary care clinic from Nova Scotia Health is set to make a splash in Bridgewater with its new operational hub. Located at the Medical Arts Building, Suite 302, 42 Glen Allen Drive, the clinic will open its doors to residents on select Sundays throughout December and early January.

- Sunday, December 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Sunday, December 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Sunday, January 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This mobile clinic has relocated from its previous spot at the South Shore Community Health Centre to provide a more comfortable indoor waiting environment. It aims to accommodate Nova Scotians with a seamless healthcare experience right in their community.

What You Can Expect:

The mobile clinic operates on a drop-in basis, ensuring people can receive immediate support for a variety of health concerns. Upon arrival, patients will be asked about the reason for their visit, as healthcare staff will determine the best course of action based on those needs. A preliminary screening for acute viral respiratory infections will be part of the service.

A collaborative team of nurse practitioners and family physicians will provide care, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive treatment. However, it’s important to note that this clinic is designed for non-urgent, low-acuity health issues only. It is not a substitute for established primary care providers.

Types of Concerns Addressed:

Patients can seek help for a range of minor health issues, including but not limited to: - Prescription refills (excluding controlled substances) - Mild respiratory symptoms - Earaches or sore throats - Fever, headaches, rashes - Minor gastrointestinal issues - Urinary tract infections - Muscle pain - Cold or flu symptoms

However, lab tests and diagnostic imaging will not be available at this location.
