North Atlantic is making waves in the renewable energy sector with the announcement of a groundbreaking hydrogen development project, supported entirely by wind power. Details of the Wind Farm and Hydrogen Generation Facility

At the heart of the project is a proposed 320 MW wind farm located east of Sunnyside. This farm is crucial for powering a state-of-the-art hydrogen generation facility, which is set to produce an impressive 30,000 tonnes of hydrogen each year. But that’s not all—this facility will also have the capability to convert up to 60,000 tonnes of hydrogen into a Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) for export, with half of that earmarked for the North Atlantic Wind to Hydrogen Project, while the remainder is reserved for future expansion possibilities.

Infrastructure Development and Community Involvement

To operationalize this project, the development will necessitate a 138 kV transmission line alongside various electrical infrastructure upgrades to seamlessly connect the wind turbines to the hydrogen plant.
