Quectel Launches Groundbreaking LS550G GNSS Module
In a stunning reveal, Quectel has introduced the LS550G, an ultra-compact GNSS module that measures just 5mm x 5mm x 1.05mm, tailored for efficiency in power-sensitive applications. This innovative marvel supports simultaneous reception from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS, and SBAS satellites, thus significantly enhancing satellite visibility. This advanced capability leads to a faster time to first fix and markedly improved positioning accuracy, especially crucial for applications in densely populated urban areas.
Cutting-Edge Design and Technology
Engineered with cutting-edge System-in-Package (SIP) technology, the LS550G is designed to save space without sacrificing performance. Its dual integrated Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO), and Real-Time Clock (RTC) propel it to high sensitivity levels, enabling quick and dependable positioning, even under demanding conditions.
Commitment to Innovation
Quectel's President and CSO, Norbert Muhrer, states, "The LS550G exemplifies our commitment to innovation in GNSS technology, offering exceptional performance in an ultra-compact form factor. With its multi-constellation support and advanced SIP design, the LS550G serves as the ideal solution for applications requiring high accuracy, low power, and compact size, even in the most challenging environments."
Impressive Performance Metrics
Notably, the LS550G boasts impressive performance metrics, achieving a tracking sensitivity of -165dBm and acquisition sensitivity of -147dBm without needing an external LNA. It also comes equipped with an embedded multi-tone active interference canceller, making it highly resistant to jamming and capable of maintaining its precise location accuracy, irrespective of external signal obstructions.
Power Efficiency and Technology
Power efficiency is another cornerstone of the LS550G, consuming a mere 28mW at 1.8V while leveraging four GNSS constellations. Moreover, its Enhanced Prediction Orbit on Chip (EPOC) technology allows for automatic satellite orbit prediction, using ephemeris data stored in internal RAM, which remains valid for up to three days. This results in rapid positioning solutions even in challenging low-signal scenarios.
Versatile Applications
The versatile LS550G is not just a superior choice for consumer gadgets; it's also perfect for industrial applications. Its tiny footprint and minimal power consumption position it as a leading solution for a variety of devices including wearable tech, sports trackers, asset management systems, and even elderly care products.
Seamless Integration
For seamless integration, the LS550G is compatible with both active and passive antennas, with Quectel offering an extensive selection of suitable antenna options to enhance its functionality.
