A New Mural Unveiled at the Getaway Youth Centre

An impressive new mural by artist Laura Kwok has just been unveiled at the Getaway Youth Centre located at 630 Poirier Street in Coquitlam. This vibrant work, titled “There Is Always Good in the World,” celebrates the innovative spirit of local teens and was created with their direct involvement in partnership with United Way BC.

Kwok expressed her gratitude to the over 30 teenagers who participated in the design and execution of the mural, hoping it will serve as a lasting reminder of their youthful creativity for years to come. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, she stated, “Thank you to the 30+ teens who helped design and paint this vibrant piece. May this mural live on as a reminder of your youthful spirit in the years to come.” She also acknowledged Dulux Paints in Coquitlam for supplying the necessary materials for this community-focused project.
