According to the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), the two suspects were captured on security cameras shortly after 1:10 AM, leaving a nearby pub before making their way to the temple. Dressed in hooded sweatshirts, the individuals were seen tearing down and defacing a sign at the revered place of worship, an act that has sparked outrage among local residents.
Suspects Identified
In a swift response, police worked diligently to identify the culprits. By April 5, both suspects had turned themselves in to authorities. They have been identified as 24-year-old Matthew Maciejko and 25-year-old Nathan Pobgee, both hailing from Halton Hills. Each has been charged with mischief under $5,000 and was subsequently released on a promise to appear in court in Milton at a later date.

Halton Regional Police Media Officer Constable Jeff Dillon stated that all evidence related to this appalling incident will be forwarded to the Crown. He emphasized that any potential hate motivation behind the vandalism will be closely evaluated and could be considered an aggravating factor during sentencing.
