In a startling turn of events, two brothers from Guelph have been arrested on serious child pornography charges, as confirmed by local police on Friday.

The investigation began last October when authorities received alarming information from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, based in the United States. The tip-off indicated that images of child pornography were being uploaded to social media from a residence in Guelph, raising concerns about the welfare of minors and the implications of such illegal activity.

As part of the investigation, Guelph police executed a search warrant at a home in the city’s west end in February. During the search, they seized nine electronic devices that are currently undergoing detailed forensic examination.
