In a chilling development, Durham police have apprehended a 39-year-old man from Oshawa in connection with a disturbing human trafficking investigation that dates back to January 2025.

The investigation ignited when law enforcement received alarming reports about a woman being trafficked across the city. This initial tip-off led the Human Trafficking Unit to quickly identify both the victim and the alleged perpetrator.

Police Crack Down on Trafficking!

On Wednesday, authorities took decisive action, executing search warrants at a residence located near Park Road South and Johnson Avenue in Oshawa. Officers reported that the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

During the search, police uncovered shocking evidence linked to human trafficking activities, along with a stash of unregulated cannabis.

Meet the Accused!

The suspect has been named as Adrian Austin, a 39-year-old Oshawa resident. He faces serious charges including Trafficking in Persons, Material Benefits from Sexual Services, and Procuring/Luring, along with multiple drug-related offenses.

Austin is currently awaiting a bail hearing, but remember: none of these allegations have yet been proven in court.
