In a jaw-dropping turn of events, a woman has been taken into custody after allegedly dragging a police officer with a vehicle during a thwarted arrest in Oshawa last month. This shocking incident unfolded on March 21, around 1:30 p.m., when an officer from the auto theft unit spotted a suspect linked to a recent investigation at a local plaza.

The Attempted Arrest Goes Haywire

As the officer moved in to arrest the woman, identified as 24-year-old Asmaa Ouadria from Quebec, chaos erupted. Authorities claim that instead of complying, she jumped into the front passenger seat of a car, where an unknown driver swiftly initiated a reverse, dragging the officer several meters along the ground.

Fleeing the Scene: A Reckless Escape

The harrowing scene escalated when the vehicle collided with a parked car before speeding away. To date, police have yet to identify the driver who aided her in this reckless getaway.

Caught During Another Incident

Fast forward to April 22, Ouadria was arrested while already in custody for unrelated charges. She now faces a laundry list of serious offenses, including theft of a motor vehicle, obstructing police, perjury, and multiple counts of failing to adhere to court orders.
