Robbery Attempt Unfolds in Busy Shopping Center

In a shocking turn of events this past weekend, the Burnaby RCMP launched an investigation into a daring robbery attempt at Metrotown Mall, one of the busiest shopping destinations in British Columbia.

Teenager's Bold Move Turns Violent

Around 3:30 p.m., a teenage boy, estimated to be between 16 and 18 years old, allegedly tried to snatch an item from a store located near the busy food court. What followed next was a scene straight out of a thriller!

When mall staff bravely stepped in to stop the theft, the teen escalated the situation by unleashing bear spray, a substance known for deterring much larger threats, on the employees. This left several people, including innocent bystanders, with minor injuries as he bolted from the scene.

The Hunt is On!

Fortunately, the stolen items were recovered shortly after the chaotic incident. The RCMP is currently combing through mall security footage in hopes of identifying the suspect.

As the investigation unfolds, more details are expected to emerge, and the community remains on high alert following this alarming breach of safety.
