Shocking Daylight Kidnapping in Markham: Three Arrested!

In a brazen crime that has left the Markham community shaken, three individuals have been charged in connection with a kidnapping that unfolded in broad daylight on Monday.

According to York Regional Police, the alarming incident took place around 3:25 p.m. at a bustling commercial plaza located at the intersection of Steeles Avenue and Ferrier Street. Witnesses reported seeing the victim confronted by the trio before being forcibly taken into a dark-coloured Hyundai Santa Fe.

Miraculously, the victim was discovered the following day in the vicinity of Jane Street and Black Creek Drive, albeit with minor injuries, highlighting the traumatic nature of the experience.

The swift action of law enforcement led to the apprehension of the suspects just hours later, around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. Identified as Evan Gurdon Ferlias, 23, and Junior Daniel Talbert, 19, both from Toronto, along with Osei-Jelani Joyce, 22, from Midland, they now face serious charges including kidnapping and forcible confinement. Additionally, Ferlias has been charged with failing to comply with probation, shedding light on his previous brushes with the law.
