Shocking Stabbings in Winnipeg: Woman Arrested After Violent Confrontation

In a dramatic turn of events on Wednesday night, the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has charged a 41-year-old woman following a violent incident that left two men injured on Main Street.

The unsettling series of events unfolded around 5 p.m. when police received reports of stabbings in the 800 block of Main Street. As officers rushed to the scene, their attention was drawn to a woman spotted at the intersection of Main Street and Dufferin Avenue who fit the suspect's description. Authorities described her as “brandishing an edged weapon,” which raised immediate concerns for public safety.

Upon their arrival, officers encountered two victims. A 41-year-old man approached the police to report that he had been stabbed. They also found a second victim, a 34-year-old man, suffering from serious upper body injuries. In response to the dire situation, officers administered first aid, utilizing a tourniquet on the more critically injured man.

Both victims were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. The 41-year-old man was treated and reported to be in stable condition. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old had initially been classified as unstable but was later upgraded to stable condition.

Through subsequent investigations, it was revealed that a confrontation had erupted between the suspect and the 34-year-old man, which escalated into violence, resulting in the man being stabbed. Remarkably, after the initial stabbing, the suspect allegedly ran away only to return and attack the 41-year-old man without provocation.

The WPS acted quickly, leading to the woman’s arrest. She now faces serious charges, including two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a previous release order. Currently, she remains in police custody as the investigation unfolds.
