In a dramatic incident early Monday morning, two individuals sustained injuries after their vehicle collided with a CN merchandise train in Longueuil, located on Montreal's South Shore. Emergency responders were alerted to the scene at Guimond Boulevard and de la Métropole Street following a 911 call around 3 a.m.

According to Longueuil police (SPAL), the driver, a man in his 20s, fled the scene immediately after the crash. Fortunately, he returned shortly after, only to face arrest for both fleeing the accident and suspected impaired driving. Meanwhile, his passenger, a woman in her 20s, remained in the vehicle during the chaos and was also injured. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening.
