Support Alberta's Prostate Cancer Awareness with the Launch of the Movember Campaign!

This November, a charitable organization in Alberta is calling on residents to rally in support of a crucial initiative aimed at improving access to early detection of prostate cancer across the province.

The Prostate Cancer Centre has launched its "Keep It In Alberta" campaign, which encourages donations throughout the month of Movember. In an inspiring twist, the AGAT foundation is matching contributions up to an incredible $350,000, doubling the impact of every dollar donated.

These funds will specifically support the development of a groundbreaking mobile clinic known as the "MAN VAN." This innovative service provides free prostate cancer screening through blood tests, designed to meet men in their community and eliminate barriers to detection.

"We break down barriers and we meet men where they are," emphasized Stacey Smith, the Director of Fund Development for the Prostate Cancer Centre. She highlighted that every donation stays within Alberta, directly benefiting local communities and loved ones—be it fathers, brothers, cousins, or friends.

Men aged 40 to 70 are eligible for testing, which is quick and efficient, averaging just 15 minutes. The best part? No prior appointment is necessary.

What sets this initiative apart is that it is the FIRST of its kind in the entire country, offering accessible, on-the-go healthcare to men in a convenient manner.

Dr. Cory Wowk, who personally experienced the screening, praised the rapid service stating, "It was nice and efficient, very quick. I realize the importance of regular screening; I’m a physician myself." He strongly believes that regular health screening is vital for catching prostate cancer early, making this Movember a perfect opportunity to take action.
