PARIS, France - In a heartbreaking incident early Sunday morning, at least three migrants tragically lost their lives while trying to cross the perilous English Channel from northern France to Britain.

The unfortunate event unfolded around 6 a.m., prompting a rapid response from French emergency services and the navy's 'Dauphin' helicopter, which was deployed for rescue operations.

Authorities reported that the crossing was particularly treacherous, and approximately 50 individuals found themselves stranded in the icy waters and on the beach near Sangatte.

Thankfully, brave rescue teams managed to assist 45 individuals, including four who needed urgent medical care and were taken to local hospitals.

However, the day turned grim as three unconscious migrants were recovered from the sea but could not be revived despite desperate efforts by medical personnel.
