A heartbreaking incident unfolded in North Vancouver’s Mount Seymour area, where authorities have confirmed the death of a lost hiker.
On Saturday, a frantic search operation was launched by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in collaboration with local search and rescue teams after the hiker was reported missing. Unfortunately, by late afternoon, the grim news broke that the individual had been found deceased.
The North Shore Rescue team had initially alerted the public via social media around 9:40 AM on Saturday, stating they were responding to an urgent call regarding the missing hiker.
Known for its challenging terrain, Mount Seymour is popular for a variety of outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. However, the backcountry areas pose significant risks and require experience and caution.
While the RCMP has withheld additional information about the deceased, citing privacy concerns, they extended their condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic loss. The community mourns a fellow adventurer taken too soon.
