In a shocking turn of events, Durham police have confirmed the identity of the man fatally shot in an apartment building in Oshawa on New Year’s Eve. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. at 1040 Cedar Street, located north of Wentworth Street West, after officers responded to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, the police found 29-year-old Dennis Binda, a resident of Oshawa, suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking him as the 11th homicide victim in the region for the year 2024.
