In 1974, LaFosse etched her name in history as the first female sworn into the RCMP, proudly joining the inaugural all-female troop at the Depot Division in Regina. This courageous step shattered long-standing barriers and paved the way for countless women in law enforcement.

Her remarkable career spanned various regions, including her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador. From Grand Falls to Holyrood, LaFosse dedicated herself to serving communities and protecting citizens until her retirement in 2005.
