Vancouver Police Urgently Seek Witnesses in Shocking 2021 Murder Case
In a tragic reminder of unsolved violence, the Vancouver Police Department is intensifying efforts to find witnesses in the case of Luis Rosas Saenez, who was brutally murdered nearly three and a half years ago. On a fateful night in July 2021, the 24-year-old was fatally stabbed after leaving a house party in the Kerrisdale neighborhood, located along Southwest Marine Drive near West 57th Avenue.
Authorities were alerted to the scene by a concerned driver who suspected a fight was occurring. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Saenez in critical condition. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries a short time later in the hospital.
While police have identified a suspect, they are urgently appealing to anyone with information—especially witnesses who have yet to step forward. “There are individuals in our community who witnessed this tragic event, and others who may have vital information that could lead to justice for Luis and his family,” emphasized Sgt. Steve Addison. “We’re urging those people to come forward and assist us in bringing accountability for this heinous crime.”
Initial reports indicate that Saenez was engaged in a verbal altercation with a group of individuals outside the party, moments before he was stabbed. This confrontation escalated quickly, leading to the unfortunate outcome. “Many people witnessed this incident, and their accounts could be crucial to our investigation. We implore them to do the right thing and share what they know,” Sgt. Addison added.
The Vancouver Police Department’s homicide team is dedicated to solving this case, and anyone with potential leads is strongly encouraged to contact them directly at 604-717-2500. This crime remains a dark blemish on the community, highlighting the critical need for witnesses to come forth and help restore safety and justice.
