2024 Best Landscape Awards Showcase Hong Kong's Top Private Properties!

The prestigious Best Landscape Award for Private Property Development 2024 has revealed its winners, highlighting the most stunning landscapes in Hong Kong. Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the awards ceremony took place on October 4, where 13 exceptional private properties received Gold Awards for their excellence in landscape design and maintenance.

In addition to the Gold Awards, the ceremony also honored 30 properties with Merit Awards and presented 12 Environmental Efficiency Awards, recognizing efforts to enhance green initiatives and environmental awareness across the community.

In an inspiring address, the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Mr. Vincent Liu, emphasized that this award, held biennially, is a prime initiative aimed at promoting urban greening. Liu highlighted the importance of recognizing private properties that display outstanding horticultural maintenance and integrated landscape designs, which significantly contribute to the visual appeal and environmental sustainability of their locales.

To promote additional green spaces for the community, last year, the LCSD planted over 500 flowering trees in several parks across Hong Kong. Their ambitious plan includes planting 2,500 more trees over the next five years to create vibrant flower-viewing hotspots across all 18 districts. This year, they have initiated the replacement of aging Acacia confusa trees with other beautiful flowering species, addressing safety concerns and enhancing public enjoyment.

The Best Landscape Award saw an enthusiastic participation, with nearly 200 entries showcasing a variety of innovative designs, each reflecting the hard work of the participants. The winning projects focused on integrating natural elements, utilizing large trees, seasonal plants, and creative rooftop and vertical gardening solutions, effectively turning urban spaces into tranquil retreats.
