In a stunning revelation following her elimination from "Dancing with the Stars," Anna “Delvey” Sorokin, who rose to infamy as a convicted felon and faux heiress, has publicly condemned the show as exploitative and unfair. Sorokin, 33, claimed that the producers leveraged her notoriety solely for ratings, leaving her feeling manipulated and undervalued.

Speaking to NBC News via email, Sorokin asserted, “I feel that the show so obviously used me to drive up the ratings. They never had any plans to give me a chance to grow and only cared about exploiting me for attention. It felt like I was never really given a fair chance.”

Despite her efforts to improve week after week, she reported receiving low scores—which she referred to as “nonsensical”—that she felt were not reflective of her actual performance. Sorokin stressed, “It’s supposed to be a dance competition and not a popularity contest.”

This public outcry comes after Sorokin’s turbulent past, having posed as a wealthy New York socialite and defrauded banks and elite individuals. Convicted of grand larceny and theft in 2019, she was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in prison but served only two years before her release on parole. However, her ongoing struggles with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)—including being detained for an expired visa—have continued to cast a shadow over her life.

Upon her entry into "Dancing with the Stars," social media erupted with backlash, especially after promotional images showed her dancing with caution due to her court-ordered ankle monitor. Sorokin humorously remarked that the production team “took the measurements” of her ankle monitor to make sure it complemented her costumes.

In a recent episode of Tori Spelling’s podcast, "misSPELLING," Sorokin reiterated her disappointment with the show. She described her experience as mostly negative and labeled it a waste of time, noting her elimination left her feeling discarded. "It seems like it's been mostly a negative experience for me," she reflected.

Despite her early exit from the competition last Tuesday, Sorokin went viral when she bluntly stated she would take away “nothing” from the experience. In a notably candid moment, she expressed to co-host Julianne Hough that the advice given to her throughout the show was “worthless.”

The question now remains: will this controversial star ever receive the redemption she seeks, or will the specter of her past continue to define her future? As Anna Sorokin attempts to turn the page on her tumultuous life, the world watches with bated breath, eagerly awaiting her next move.
