Paradox Interactive has announced yet another delay for the highly anticipated sequel, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, developed by The Chinese Room. Previously expected to release in the "first half of 2025," the game will now aim for a launch window in October 2025.

In a statement released on the game's official website, Paradox emphasized its commitment to delivering a title that meets high technical standards. "Ensuring great technical quality is more important than sticking to a specific date," the company explained. They assured fans that development is in its final stages and that community feedback is being integrated into the final product.

Paradox reassured players, stating, "Bloodlines 2 will launch in October 2025 when the game meets the technical quality standards that you, our fans, rightfully expect and deserve." While they did not provide a specific release date, they promised that more details would be shared in due course.

This marks the second delay for Bloodlines 2 since The Chinese Room took over the project. Initially, the release was pushed from late 2024 to early 2025. Paradox had intended for the game to launch as scheduled, claiming it was at a good enough stage, but decided to delay it to create a "quality assurance buffer" and allow The Chinese Room to focus more on polishing the game.

The cancellation of several projects and the tumultuous development history of Bloodlines 2 underscore the challenges Paradox faces in an increasingly competitive gaming market. CEO Fredrik Wester acknowledged last October the company's missteps, stating, "It is clear that we have made the wrong calls in several projects... and this must change." Previous management woes nearly saw Bloodlines 2 being scrapped before The Chinese Room took command. Additionally, the disappointing performance of The Lamplighters' League compelled Paradox to sever ties with its developer, Harebrained Schemes.
