This past weekend, the skies were set ablaze with the beauty of April's full moon, beckoning skywatchers from around the globe to gaze upwards in wonder.

The Enigmatic Pink Moon

Dubbed the 'Pink Moon'—a name that pays homage to the moss pink wildflower blooming in spring—this celestial marvel was particularly special as it graced us as the smallest full moon of 2025. Why, you ask? It was a 'micromoon', reaching its peak illumination at apogee, the farthest point in its orbit from our planet. While the difference in size might elude the naked eye, the enchanting glow of the moon provided a breathtaking backdrop for photographers and enthusiasts alike.

Photographer Robbie Pesiwarissa captured the moon's allure from a picturesque park in Sydney, Australia. The serenity of Archibald Memorial Fountain, paired with Saint Mary's Cathedral, created an unforgettable scene.
