Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds of a Feather’ Soars to Spotify’s Most Streamed Song of 2024!
Billie Eilish’s hit single “Birds of a Feather” has taken the music world by storm, amassing an impressive 1.775 billion streams on Spotify, making it the most streamed song of 2024. This catchy pop anthem comes from her latest album, *Hit Me Hard and Soft*, and was crafted alongside her brother and frequent collaborator, Finneas O’Connell.
The song has not only captured listeners' hearts but also climbed to an impressive No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It has also dominated the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, securing the top position for an astounding 21 weeks, showcasing Eilish’s undeniable impact on the music scene.
With Grammy Awards fast approaching, “Birds of a Feather” has earned three nominations, including prestigious honors like Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Fans are eagerly awaiting the Feb. 2 ceremony to see if Eilish will add to her already impressive count of nine Grammys from 32 nominations.
Finneas revealed in a recent interview on Eilish’s YouTube channel that the song pushes the envelope on traditional themes of love: “There’s a lot of songs about dying for somebody and loving them until they die. I thought it was really fun to lean into this theme.” This creative approach is indicative of both Eilish and Finneas’s willingness to evolve their artistry while connecting deeply with their audience.
In addition to the success of “Birds of a Feather,” the duo’s album *Hit Me Hard and Soft* has been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Notably, the lead single “Lunch” is contending for Best Music Video, and another track, “L'Amour de Ma Vie [Over Now Extended Version]” is up for Best Pop Dance Recording.
Finneas himself is no stranger to the Grammy stage, holding 10 wins from 17 nominations, including being the youngest recipient of the coveted Producer of the Year award at just 22 years old. He recently composed music for the Apple TV+ series *Disclaimer*, influencing his work on Eilish’s album. In a candid moment, he shared the interwoven process of creating both projects, stating, “I really credit *Disclaimer* for being the reason that there is a string overture in that album.”
The sibling duo drew inspiration from legendary albums like *Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band* and *Abbey Road*, aiming to create a seamless musical experience that echoes throughout their album. As fans continue to stream “Birds of a Feather” and anticipate the Grammy awards, one thing remains clear: Billie Eilish and Finneas are a force to be reckoned with in the music industry!
