In an electrifying announcement, rock legend Bruce Springsteen revealed that he will unlock his musical vault and unveil a staggering 83 previously unheard songs this June. This groundbreaking release, titled “Tracks II: The Lost Albums,” is scheduled to debut on June 27 through Sony Music, possibly as a lead-up to an eagerly awaited biopic about the iconic musician.
Springsteen shared that this collection will include seven full-length albums, with an impressive 74 of the 83 tracks being entirely new to listeners. "The Lost Albums were full records, some even to the point of being mixed and ready for release," he stated in a heartfelt message. "I’ve shared this music with close friends over the years, and I’m thrilled that now you all will finally get to hear it. I hope you enjoy them."
The tracks, penned and recorded between 1983 and 2018—with a significant portion created during the 1990s—offer a unique glimpse into Springsteen’s creative journey. In an exciting preview, one of the songs, “Rain in the River,” was released on Thursday, providing fans with a taste of what’s to come.
Springsteen's album “Born in the U.S.A.,” launched in 1984, remains his most successful, having reached a monumental 17-times platinum status. While subsequent albums enjoyed popularity, none matched the monumental success of “Born in the U.S.A.” Recently, Springsteen chuckled at the narrative suggesting he entered a “lost” phase during the 1990s. "I often read about myself in that period as if I was wandering aimlessly," he shared. "Not really. I was busy working the whole time."
In fact, Springsteen has spent the pandemic putting the finishing touches on these albums, which include titles like "La Garage Sessions '83," "Streets of Philadelphia Sessions," "Somewhere North of Nashville," "Inyo," "Twilight Hours," "Perfect World," and "Faithless."
Excitingly, this monumental music release is expected to align with the upcoming film “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” a biopic that stars actor Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in "The Bear." While a specific release date for the film has yet to be announced, it's anticipated to grace screens later this year or early next.
Mark your calendars for June 27—Springsteen fans worldwide are in for a musical revelation that promises to breathe new life into the legendary artist’s repertoire!
