In an exciting development for the travel industry, the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) welcomed 100 new travel agent members at a dynamic workshop held at Hong Kong's cutting-edge Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. This significant event took place in partnership with the Hong Kong Travel Agent Owners Association (HKTAOA) and Worldwide Cruise Terminal (WCT), with crucial support from Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), underscoring the collaborative spirit of the cruise sector.

The workshop was a treasure trove of insights for Hong Kong travel agents, covering the latest trends and opportunities emerging within the global cruise industry, particularly in the thriving Asian markets. Peter Kollar, CLIA’s head of international training & development, spearheaded engaging training sessions that not only enhanced the agents’ knowledge of cruises but also sharpened their sales strategies.

A standout feature of the event was an interactive tour of the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and an immersive experience aboard the Norwegian Spirit, where participants explored modern cruise offerings first-hand. “This workshop embodies the escalating interest in cruising among Hong Kong travel agents,” stated Kollar. The newly onboarded agents are now part of CLIA’s 2025 Asian Membership program, gaining access to a wealth of professional development opportunities, including extensive educational courses, online resources, and the chance to achieve recognition through the CLIA Certification Program.
