Standup comedian and former star of “Impractical Jokers,” Joe Gatto, is stepping away from the spotlight as he checks into an inpatient treatment facility following serious allegations of sexual assault and harassment. The shocking developments have led to the cancellation of Gatto's much-anticipated “Let’s Get Into It” tour, a move that has left fans reeling.

In a statement to People magazine on March 26, Gatto expressed his intention to focus on self-improvement: 'Having taken some time to reflect, I’ve decided to voluntarily enter an inpatient program to continue working on myself. I just want to thank my friends, fans, and especially my family for all of their support — never more so than over the last few days.'

The decision comes in light of disturbing allegations made by a TikTok user, who goes by the username joozyb. Just a week prior to Gatto’s statement, she detailed her accusation in a now-deleted video, claiming that Gatto sexually assaulted her when she was just 19. In a follow-up video, she recounted an encounter at a Milwaukee performance in 2023, where she alleged that Gatto invited her to his hotel room and then assaulted her.

Gatto has vehemently denied these allegations in a statement to Page Six, saying, 'I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most. But anyone who knows me at all knows full well that I wouldn’t assault anyone. Working on myself is an ongoing process, and I am now going to take some time away from the public eye to focus my energies where I need to.'

In a troubling twist, it was reported that a second woman accused Gatto of sexual harassment while he was her employer, alleging inappropriate behavior and unwanted advances that left her feeling uncomfortable and unsafe at work.

Married to Bessy since 2013, Gatto announced their separation in 2021 but the couple later reconciled. Together, they have two children. Gatto had planned to kick off his “Let’s Get Into It” tour in August 2024, but with these recent allegations and his decision to enter treatment, the future of his comedy career now hangs in the balance.
