Announcing a generous personal donation of $1 million (approximately £762,000), Parton aims to aid those affected by the disaster in her home state of Tennessee and beyond.

The iconic singer shared her commitment during an emotional event in Tennessee, stating that the funds would come "from my own bank account." Also amplifying her impact, Parton’s local business ventures, including the renowned Dollywood amusement park, plan to match her donation, contributing an additional $1 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation, which is helping flood victims in the area.

At the press conference, the 78-year-old star captivated the audience by singing a heartfelt rendition of “Helene, Helene,” a playful twist on her classic hit “Jolene,” expressing her deep emotional connection to the affected communities. The storm has tragically claimed at least 225 lives, marking it as the deadliest hurricane to hit the mainland U.S. since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

"This is my home," Parton declared during the gathering outside a Walmart store in Newport, Tennessee.
