As the dust settles on another thrilling Super Bowl season, the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in the coveted No. 32 draft position, a spot that every team dreams of—thanks to their championship triumph. However, the reality is that this elite ranking brings its own set of challenges.
General Manager Howie Roseman has revealed that the Eagles have ranked fewer than 32 players as first-round talents. This raises the unsettling possibility that all of the players they covet might be long gone by the time they make their pick. Despite the grim outlook, Roseman remains upbeat about the Eagles' prospects.
"We always prepare for the worst-case scenario," Roseman stated. "No matter what happens, we’re confident we'll secure a quality player. There just aren't 32 players worthy of a first-round grade on our draft board this year."
Last season, the Eagles snagged cornerback Quinyon Mitchell at the 22nd pick, against the odds, as they initially assumed he would be off the board. "We felt lucky to land someone we didn't expect to still be available," Roseman recalled.
With the draft just around the corner, the Eagles remain hopeful that they’ll strike gold once again at No. 32, turning what many see as a disadvantage into an opportunity for a fantastic find.
