Capcom is ramping up excitement with the announcement of a second open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds ahead of the much-anticipated multiplayer game’s launch. This time, the best part is that players won’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate!

The beta will be open to everyone with a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or a PC equipped via Steam, but PC players should ensure their systems meet the minimum requirements for the game.

Mark your calendars! The beta will occur over two distinct periods: February 6-9 and February 13-16, commencing and ending at 7 p.m. Pacific Time on each day. Excitingly, the beta supports cross-platform play, allowing hunters from different consoles to team up to face formidable foes!

One of the highlights of this beta is the introduction of a new hunt mission featuring Gypceros, a giant, dinosaur-like bird that first made its appearance in 2007's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Despite its absence in recent titles like Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise, Gypceros is back, adding a nostalgic flair for long-time fans.

Players can also look forward to the return of missions and features from the first beta, including the character creation options for both the player and their Palico—a loyal feline companion—along with the storyline's tutorial hunt against the large armored frog monster, Chatacabra, and a more challenging hunt against the bear-like Doshaguma.

Additional Quests and Community Collaboration
