April 25, 2025 – Hong Kong is bracing itself for an exciting surge of visitors this Labour Day Golden Week, with the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC) forecasting more than 800,000 mainland tourists to flock to the city. This remarkable figure marks a six percent increase compared to last year, signaling a vibrant boost in travel.
Hotel Bookings at an All-Time High!
Fanny Yeung, executive director of TIC, revealed that hotel occupancy is set to soar to a staggering 90%. With room rates holding steady, travelers can expect comfortable accommodations as they explore all that Hong Kong has to offer.
Top Attractions Drawing Crowds!
Yeung pointed out that attractions like the newly opened Kai Tak Sports Park and the lovable six giant pandas at Ocean Park are expected to be major draws for mainland visitors, enhancing the city’s appeal.
Tour Groups on the Rise!
In addition, about 600 tour groups are slated to arrive during this bustling holiday—a 10 percent increase from last year's figures.
