The dream of Cam Ward donning a New York Giants uniform is officially over!

In a surprising twist this Tuesday, NFL Network unveiled that the Tennessee Titans, who hold the coveted No. 1 pick in this Thursday's NFL Draft, plan to keep the pick instead of trading it away. Instead, they aim to select the talented Miami quarterback.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there was genuine interest in a trade. "There was real trade interest... But as one team stated, ‘They never opened the door,’" highlighting the Giants' dashed hopes.

For months, speculation swirled around the Giants needing to secure a long-term quarterback. However, reports indicated that Titans' new GM Mike Borgonzi turned down an enticing "package of picks" from the Giants, which even included a third-rounder for this draft.

Now, the only surefire way for Giants GM Joe Schoen to land a quarterback is to select Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders with the No. 3 pick. Yet, it’s worth noting that many scouts regard Sanders as leaning more towards a Day 2 prospect rather than being a top priority like Ward.

As it stands, analysts believe the Giants will likely go after Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with their first selection. They might then look to trade back into the first round to snag either Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, or another promising signal-caller.

All eyes will be on Thursday's draft festivities in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Will the Giants manage to pivot effectively, or will their quarterback hunt continue?

Stay tuned for updates on how this draft unfolds!
