The NBA is currently investigating a provocative gesture made by Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant during a heated match against the Golden State Warriors.

Late in the game, Morant was seen mimicking shooting a gun with his hands towards the Warriors' bench, an action that has raised eyebrows and drawn the league's scrutiny.

The incident unfolded during a timeout with just 20.1 seconds left in the game, which the Warriors won 134-125.

As Morant approached the Grizzlies bench, he extended both arms and made finger-gun motions directed at the opposing team.

In response, referees assessed double technical fouls to both Morant and Warriors guard Buddy Hield, who had gestured beforehand.

This is not the first time Morant has found himself in hot water over firearm-related incidents.

The 25-year-old, a two-time All-Star, has faced two suspensions for brandishing a firearm on social media.

The first occurred in March 2023 during an Instagram live stream at a nightclub shortly after a loss to the Denver Nuggets, leading to an eight-game suspension.

Just a few months later, he faced a much stiffer penalty—a 25-game suspension at the start of the 2023-24 season—after another incident involving a firearm during a live stream from a friend’s account.

Currently, the Grizzlies are struggling on the court, having lost seven of their last eight games, which has dropped them to sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

In a further surprise, the organization recently fired head coach Taylor Jenkins, reflecting the mounting pressures and expectations surrounding the team.

As the NBA's investigation unfolds, fans and analysts alike are left wondering how Morant’s actions will affect his career and the Grizzlies’ performance moving forward.

Will this be a pivotal moment for Morant, or just another chapter in an increasingly complicated narrative? Stay tuned for updates on this developing story!
