In a shocking turn of events, comedian Jay Leno is once again in the headlines for an injury that left him “all black and blue.” The 74-year-old showbiz legend suffered a nasty spill after misjudging a steep hill while taking a shortcut to dinner ahead of his scheduled performance at the Palace Theatre in Pittsburgh on Friday.

“I fell down, just boom, boom, boom,” Leno cheerfully recounted to TMZ while arriving at the Comedy for Koby event in Beverly Hills, lifting his eye patch to showcase a significant bruise under his eye. The comedian didn’t just sustain an eye injury; he also broke his wrist and lost a nail during the tumble, jokingly stating, “I am all black and blue.”

Remarkably, Leno continued with his performance as planned, donning the eye patch in front of an audience of 2,600 fans. “When you have that many people waiting on you, the show must go on,” he declared, showcasing his resilient spirit.

Once he returned to Los Angeles, Leno received treatment for his injuries but did not let that slow him down, proceeding with another show at the Yaamava’ Theater near San Bernardino the following Saturday.

This isn’t Leno's first brush with danger. Just last year, he had a serious motorcycle accident where he broke his collarbone, two ribs, and cracked two kneecaps. “But I’m OK!” he reassured the Las Vegas Review-Journal at the time, proving his determination to perform despite the setbacks.

In a testament to his adventurous spirit, Leno also faced second- and third-degree burns two years ago while working on a vintage car in his garage. His friend Dave Killackey recalls it as a harrowing experience, describing it as “a wall of fire.” Leno, however, has a lighthearted take on his misfortunes, insisting that, “The great thing about this age is you don’t learn by your mistakes. You keep doing the same stupid thing.”

As Leno continues to recover, fans and fellow comedians alike are rallying around him, proving that laughter truly is the best medicine—even in the face of adversity!
